But the executives still taking bonuses. Shameful. I had a summer job there when I was going to college in the early 70's. It was a great company for a long time.

I disagree or at least in part in my opinion it has a lot more to do with poor business decisions over the last 10 or 20 years all adding up resulting in a poorer product and loss of market share, some of those decisions were why I sold my shares in B&S several years ago

They may sell of some of their turf assets to maintain the much smaller engine component that was there decades ago. Looks like the plant in NY will continue on hopefully. Next 30-60 days will determine how this all plays out.
Big loan payment did not get their interest payment but executives got their bonuses? That may be part of the reason for not being able to succeed in a competitive market place.

Maybe cause you can never start the brigs , but the Honda will start on one pull.

Big difference between the black Honda engines, (made in China I think) and the red ones. I've got a fairly cheap lawn mower here in town with a black Honda engine and 4 years without a hiccup always starts first pull. On my nice BCS tiller at the farm and my Mantis I have red Honda engines and they are the same. I doubt the black Honda will have the lifespan of the red ones.

I like the red Honda's too. I also like Briggs and Stratton. I know that the Honda's last longer. The Briggs seem a bit slimmer for improved visibility on a BCS tiller. Just my 2 cents, if someone likes Honda's. I'm cool with that.

I always thought when my 35 year old 18hp opposed twin died in my craftsman GT I would put one of them new V-twins in it and drive it for another 35 years. Sounds like my motor is gonna outlast the company.

I have steered clear of anything with a briggs and stratton on it. Loud and always seem to break down. If they can't produce as quality of an engine as Honda or Harbor Freights Predator line then they deserve to go.
