Ennio Morricone was an Italian composer who created all the soundtracks of the great spaghetti westerns and many other western films too.

I figured it wouldn't make the American news, but next time you think about "a Fist full of Dollars" or " Once Upon a Time in the West" now you know who came up with the music.

Thanks for the info. That style of music is greatly underappreciated.

Yes- thank you for posting this- may he rest in peace.
The only composer I knew of from the old westerns was Johnny Western.

Exactly! The music is on a par with Clint's excellence. Certainly could have done no harm to his rise to international fame.

Yet we never really stMorriconeop and think; " What Genius decided that someone, with a recorder, should rattle off these five notes. Then, someone would go " Whaah, whaaa, whaaaa! ". And, if ye watch the orchestral performances? Someone, at some points, claps two thin bits of wood together!

This stuff didn't just materialise, as Clint flipped his poncho back. Chewing a cheroot.

Morricone was a genius.

That is the power of music. Some of it is like flies on the windshield but some of it stays with you till the last day.

Definitely one of the greats when it comes to musical background. Once Upon A Time In The West has the best background music I've ever heard. The only exception might be Somewhere In Time.

RIP Mr. Morricone and thank you for the great work you did that will forever be in our minds.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

RIP. The man was a genius. The best movie scores ever written, hands down.
