Which is the best. Which one for small water trapping (mink muskrat) large water trapping (beaver otter) small land trapping (coon possum weasel skunk) and which is best for large land trapping (fox yote) I personally like coil spring for everything except muskrat. I just want to hear your guy’s opinions

I truly believe what you are confident in is best for you. I like long springs for coyote but I use a bunch of coils too. stoploss and conibears for 'rats and mink but I use long, coils, and colony traps too. Beaver I like #5 four coiled and conibears but use some longs too. I like DP's and conibears for coon skunk but I use coils and longs too. I dont target weasel much but do use victor and easy set rat traps in boxes on occasion. I dont target possum but catch them in everything. Strong springs for coon coyote beaver and otter is more important in my opinion than style of trap. Most other critters a good lock up is enough as long as the springs aren't junk.

Again this is just my opinion and subject to change.

My opinion. Jumps are outdated and have been replaced by coilsprings. Coilsprings are easier to dig a trap bed for simply because they take less digging. Longsprings are more stable simply because the long springs help stabilize it better. (duh). I still like to use #4 Newhouse Dbl Longsprings for beaver as it makes me feel like a mountain man. smile My opinion.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Strictly Long Spring traps here, for foot holds. Other than that, some body grips, cages, and snares. smile
