Tip - Just copy and paste the traps, then fill in the numbers, it'll save a lot of time.

MYSide I know you wont like my answer but a good trapper can make a good catch with any of those traps provided the trap used match's the species. Talk to the top ten fur producers in your part of the world and you will get 6 different answers for best trap. Make some choices and start trapping. Some things just take experience and experience can only be gotten by trapping. You reach your own conclusions and every now and them some of your conclusions will change

i like coyote and cat trapping. mb650 and bridger3 either one work just fine for me. let me say though the bridgers i have are the old bridgers before the company was sold. cant speak on the new ones. you dont have it up there but duke 1 1/2 is a heck of a buy for the money. they need tweaking and tuning but it doesnt take long

no i dont exclusively coyote and cat trap. they are just my favorite. have held a few in coon sets with duke 1 1/2's. have also had the jaws popped out by coyotes.
i use those 1 1/2's for coon fox rats skunks and have used them on marten also.

Not a huge difference between a 550 and a 1 1/2. 450 is a size 1 1/2 trap

I'm not a big numbers coyote trapper but I catch a few. And I used the Duke #2s and a few Duke #3s. And I caught a fair Number of coyotes In MS using 1.65 Bridgrers. Not a great coyote trap by some standards but they did the Job.
But It's like what DC said.

Many on here would be surprised at the number of coyotes caught in 1.5 Victors and SCs. Laminated and baseplated and with #2 springs. Never had any problems. This was live market trapping for coyotes and fox. Not the best trap to target coyotes with but I still miss a few with larger jawspread traps.....
....I've used just about every type trap you listed except #3s and the new Dukes. Use only #2 Bridger dogless now. For what im doing now (predator control jobs) the B2 dogless is a 9.5. Have to tweak it a bit out of the box. Have 11 dozen of em.
The MB550 is probably the best trap out of the box...no tinkering needed. I dont own any but my son has 13 dozen. Good trap.
