I have always thought that he started out doing what was "right" as far as protocol, but the way it ended was unacceptable. I know its not popular here, JMO.

I don’t think the cop has many cheerleaders on here I will bet what he did and what he was taught was not followed that day.

Yes, they are trained tthere, that in a state of agitated delirium aka agitated delirium syndrome. a police officer can and should apply a knee to the neck in this way for an UNLIMITED amount of time, until the paramedics arrive. The coroner report did not mention any physical damage to the neck, proving he applied the knee correctly. The report saying a coronary event was the cause is consistent with Agitated (or Excited) Delirium Syndrome, that is brought on by overdosing on Fentanyl and Meth, both of which Floyd was on.
If this goes to a jury, he is technically legally not guilty. They need him to plea out, REALLY badly.
This does not meet the burden for second degree. Which means all the other cops are free too.
If he was following orders to apply the knee for an indefinite amount of time, on someone in a state of agitated or excited delirium, until the paramedics arrived, then he is not guilty. the coroners report backs this up, because it is common for persons in a state of agitated delirium to suffer cardiac events, in custody, and die. According their mandate Chauvin did everything right....
The problem is, i think, even if this all wasn't true, and that he was never trained in this way, that he still would have killed Floyd that day. And for that reason, i do not support the defence i just presented, as he was not following orders, he was following an urge in my opinion. I don't think he held that knee because a rule trained him to, i think he decided to keep it there as long as anyone let him. And therefore i consider him guilty. In the court of public opinion.

If I kneel on the back of your neck you live if I kneel on the sides or front of your neck you die if It’s done very long.

It was all staged to start the riots. No CPR, cops climbing out of the ambulance, no area taped off, it's all fake. Nothing new.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

He has already been declared guilty in the "court of public opinion". Good luck now getting a fair trial anywhere using the facts and evidence.

Great post,Ouananiche I told a friend here, the other day that the cops knee could in no way have cut off the detainee's Air.Not defending the cop as I am not sure I even like him.I cod never see well enough, what the othet cops were doing.
Phentnyl is one the worst drugs to show up in this country ever and Floyd had it in his system. So many times, politics and public persuasion rules these things.I hope and pray that in this case, they follow the law though I am not confident they will.If they don't,it won't do this country any good and we already have too much going on. What does liking the cop have to do with him being guilty or not.

With the fanfare made at his funeral they made it impossible to say they were wrong. Fentanyl or no Fentanyl. Which funeral? There were several. Golden casket, American flag and all. He was a great man.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

There were many factors that lead to the death of Floyd
I don't think the primary reason for his death was the knee
If the cop gets a fair trial he won't see the conviction everybody wants
The cities will burn again I'm sure

It doesn't matter whether I think he was right or wrong... he is found either guilty or not guilty according to the facts. If their police instruction manual dictates that procedure in the way it was performed, he should be found not guilty according to the laws of the U.S... He must be found guilty without a shadow of a doubt. I see a very large shadow looming over this case.

If their police instruction manual dictates that procedure in the way it was performed, - He broke protocol. It’s middle of the back there.. Add on th 18 other documented instances of excessive force and I think he’s done. ..... like a fat lady on a barbed wire fence.
