I don't think I would call that "ancient."

Hit sounded like the guy was wondering who'd maybe buy it. I had some cousins dredge one out of a small Ogemaw Co. Lake in the 1950's. (the county on my counties east side) It was sent to MSU by the Dept of Conservation, as they called the DNR then. It disappearo. It was hidden in plain sight.....hung in the entrance way of the Houghton Lake DNR office for decades, not 2 miles from my house.....even had a brass plate stating when, where, and by whom found. I said something to a family member and it got back to the fellows that found it originally. The state returned it to them and it hangs over in Ogemaw Co. somewhere now. I hadn't known the family didn't know it's whereabouts. I'm thinking it was a big 5X5. The state figured it was several thousand years old.

The news story I read about this is they figure it's from 1875 the couple was working on their boat dock and the anchor rope snagged the skull and horns . Good for them is what I think .

I knew a couple who found one almost that good after a flood on the Republican River up on the Nebraska line. I was amazed it was not beat to
