Had some in Mason City Iowa 2001 at a NTA show . What made the news was trappers bringing them water as it was exceptionally hot. The bone head I remember best had a sign with a picture of a fox carcass on it that said no fur on my back. He was shaking the sign at me and looked angry. He was wearing leather sandals and I had to laugh. He looked really angry then so I pointed at his feet. He just turned around and walked off as I drove away.
In 97 NTA show in Rochester MN, there was some protesting. I saw them but they didn't give me personally any grief . I did hear some rumors about a few altercations.
I went to Goshen also but was inside the fairgrounds an didnt see the protesters.

You can count on it at every national. Sometimes more organized than others. In 87 at Mansfield there was I think two bus loads, at last one, FBI had lady agents undercover on the buses. I think now thy mostly show up for the camera's then leave when the photo ops are over.

I have not seen any protesters at a trappers meet in at least ten years.

Some at Rochester in 97 laid down on the road. But were quick to get up and out of the way if you refused to stop your vehicle. And yes,it has been several years since I have seen any at a convention or rendezvous. Tom

I remember years ago, (might have been Mansfield, OH - not sure) some antis came in a bus. Not very many. Marched in front of the gate with signs. Somehow, one of the trappers got ahold of one of their signs. It was auctioned off at the big auction to raise money for the NTA! Everyone got a big kick out of that.

Those were not tornadoes coonman. Tornadoes spin. That was just a column of cold air pulling the cloud down into a funnel shape.

Yes it was. they were just clouds. not tornadoes. They did kinda look like tornadoes except for the no rotation thing. I remember standing outside watching them for a bit with macthediver yotetrapper30 and drifter. Sure enough made you look. Somebody posted a picture on here a couple days later. That may have been the year trappers made the news for bringing water to the protesters also instead of 2001.
