I'm not saying your lying, I just disputed some claims, I'm a big enough man to say when I see things that prove me wrong. Sometimes the "other guy" can be wrong and it doesn't have to be the end of the world. I'm never wrong

The show has gotten better over time. The caliber of the contestants has gone up significantly in skill and fortitude, and the locations have become more realistic for survivability.
In the earlier seasons, each contestants game plan seemed to be to out starve the others. No one seemed to really be in for the long haul, with lots of artsy fartsy stuff being made in lieu of getting a food stock pile laid up. I think some of that was due to the milder climate locations where people more or less planned on winning it before winter really set in. The shelters sucked, and about half the people planned to starve off plants alone.
Some of the prior locations just sucked. Patagonia is pretty barren of food if you can't catch fish.
One thing that has always surprised me is very few seem to wander far from their drop point. I think as soon as I got dropped I'd scour about a mile of the area to see if there were any obvious advantageous locations, and once settled in, I'd probably want to know trapping and hunting potential beyond that.
I've been watching it for a few years, and I'm still waiting to see a winner that is not surviving, but living there. I'm waiting for a winner that when they show up to tell them they have won says "How about double or nothing? If I go twice what I have, you pay me twice as much". I know that won't happened because it makes no sense for the show, but point is, I want to see someone win it that is living well enough that they could go on til spring or whenever.
Roland looks like he could do it. Others do to. The guy from central america has been getting a pile of fish stored. The guy from South Africa (I think) has done well, but I don't see the mental fortitude nor proactive stockpiling of food to make it. Stock prices on the the blonde girl goes up every episode. I thought the dark haired girl was doing pretty well until she started crying over that rabbit. I was really surprised that the guy cashed it in so quick after losing the fire stick. He should have hung out a few days, gone about his daily stuff and it probably would have popped up. (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) I lose stuff regularly around the place but it always turns up in a few days.
My money's on Roland. That shelter was built by a guy that knows what's coming'...

That happened a few seasons ago also. Maybe the first year? A guy lost his fire stick and cashed in his chips as soon as he realized it. That just blows my mind. How could you go into a situation like this and not know how to make a fire about 100 different ways. I mean there are things you 100% need to survive and fire is in the top 4. Water, shelter, food, fire!

I just watched last weeks episode last night. I had it on DVR. The muskox is a million dollar winner. I don't see that Roland losing now unless he does something very stupid or just gives up. I'm shocked the Soy Boy is still hanging in there. I thought he would have tapped by now. the women, I don't know? They don't seem to be getting much attention so I can't really comment at this point. The Indian guy is a wild card. I can see him tapping but he has been through much worse in his life so he may stick. It's a very good show this year. It's not obvious and it's keeping me guessing.

I haven't read this whole thread, but if your an Alone fan go on YouTube and watch the Joe Rogan Experience with Jordan Jonas from season 6. This guy has done and been a lot for his age. Interesting watch.

The way I understood it they had to do the hundred. So potentially 10. Winners. But one is already gone, he lost his fire steel. That is one tool along with the knife ax and bow that I would pay close attention to its whereabouts. One of the others didn’t bring a bow, cause he doesn’t hunt. Pretty good with a rock at least once though. My hats off to them all for the grit to even try, though I’m pretty sure some of them don’t really understand the severity of the challenges they face.
Wish I was forty years younger, I’d give them a run for the money. Should call them. Would be a great new show Wish I was 40 years younger Alone ! Be like a cross between Grumpy Old Men and Benny Hill That's how our trapping trips are now!!!

So how does a guy from Red Devil Alaska end up doing his commentary from a fella in Oklahoma's living room seems like a logistics and confidentiality nightmare He can barely use his cell phone, much less set up all the internet, wifi and all that stuff. I'm not making fun of him or anything because I can't either. I'm just now figuring out how to post on this forum, but my wife and niece set it up for him. And yes it was a nightmare, everyone had to do it remotely this year because of kung flu. He has never used a computer. If I remember correctly Roland has been living in PA for a few years now. I've never seen the program but I'm sure Roland has the skills to do the job

So I'm a detail type of guy when I watch this stuff. So he Is stalking this muskox he has more then one arrow with him. But he shots the muskox and then he has no more arrows so he has to stab It with his knife. Then It shows him with a hand full of arrows when he Is packing it out.
