Took the dog for a walk on a part of the property I have not payed much attention to so far and stumbled over about half an acre of wild raspberries. .... I can see a lot of jam in my future and its only a 2 minute walk through the shrubs from where i parked the boat .... I'll take some pictures tomorrow. Fin has learned to pick his own berries and he has an advantage as he can smell the sweetest ones and pick those. He like blackberries better though. ...... ( is it still ok to call them black berries ) ??

I been digging wild ones here in the winter and moving them to get a good patch growing. Now u need to figure out how to keep the weeds from getting ahead of me in the patch.

I don't know, Scuba. I have a white mulberry tree in my front yard. The berries are not as sweet as the regular mulberries, so I considered cutting it down.
I think I will let it live, out of solidarity with my European .and Scandinavian ancestors. Besides whizzing off the Marxist BLM TRASH.

Garry I can do that now with a weed eater and don't have to get in the water to do it.
I'll have to investigate further tomorrow .... and wear long pants ...... shorts and t shirts make for a meagre raspberry harvest .I'll break out the tin pants and a bowl tomorrow

Do you have any experience with chiggers. Take the precaution of dousing yourself with OFF before you wade in on the berries. If there are chiggers in there you'll know it in the morning, you probably picked up a few this afternoon looking the patch over.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I am in the brush here every day and have not had a problem with them I think. I do have to pull the odd tick of now and then but its to hot and dry for them to be out in numbers right now.
