Mine is laying flat on the ground after rain and wind.

Looking good and that vibrant color too, plants are healthy. I will have one of my poorer years for sweet corn I have had in the last 10 years. I will try some different seed sources next year and some other ideas. I did the same thing I have done for 10-15 years and the results will be half of normal if that. A real germination issue this year for me.

Nice looking corn, I planted a patch in the back field at home this year. BAD idea, went to check on it yesterday as it was almost ready, coons and deer have wiped it out, mad

Im buying a bag next year. Im so sick of fighting the grass. What variety?
Ive got some leftover temptation in now. Late planting because of untimely rain. Not nearly as sweet
as non-rr honey select, but still pretty good.
Yours looks beautiful.

Around here RR sweet corn is 70.00/lb so most small gardeners don't mess with that. If you No-till your corn you can use a mix of a Glyphosate product (Roundup) with a residual like Prowl (pendimethalin active ingredient) before the corn emerges and it will hold the grass back for 60 days before it starts to lose it's punch. After it has emerged and has reached the R-3 leaf stage, Preen (Trifluralin active ingredient) is registered for corn use but it must be incorporated with the soil or watered in.as it is a pre-emergence on new weeds. Read the labels on any product you buy,,, then read it again and follow it. No-tilling for 4-5 years will slowly reduce your seed bank and the soil will be healthier for biologicals to help you...............................................the mike

Dad lets a man grow a patch of BT corn in his bottom. The guy sells it like hotcakes. But, I find it hard to beat Honey select, just ask the squirrels.

Two storms rolled through here this afternoon, second one had hail. Took out most of my garden including corn. Looks like I'll be buying my corn from the local stand this year.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.
