And defying governor's order to close back down effective Monday morning.

It's great to see businesses taking a stand

Maybe if someone reminds these little tin horn dictators who they work for they will think twice before they crack their whip next time. One can hope anyway

At close to 70 I look at things differently. The govt says to lock down for my own safety and I do. It’s not that I’m a big fan of govt or lockdowns, but I do value my safety and health. If everyone else wants to go out to bars and places where they can forget to wear their masks, stay 6 ft apart and not wash their hands after touching doorknobs, menus and the like, that’s fine with me. But when you get it, don’t you dare moan and groan about how you thought it was a hoax. There’s been plenty of warnings that COVID-19 is for real: 135,000 deaths and 3 million people in this country already affected by it.

Since January? 1,120,000 give or take 100.

I stand corrected. I used the weekly number of deaths in US for my calculation instead of the monthly one.
Thanks Hobbie

You are looking out for your own safety and health. That is exactly what you need to do. Yes, the virus is real, but we can't shut don the world and hide from it forever.

X2.
These businesses are on the brink of collapse. It's bad enough roughly 20% of restaurant's here have closed for good during the first shutdown. Yes they can do stuff like curbside or a delivery service but the delivery service like grubhub charges the restaurant upto 33% of the ticket for their service.

At what point do Americans as individuals and business owners say enough? There will always be viruses.

Whatever happened to the 60,000 deaths a year from the regular flu?

Or did the Covid-19 wipe it out?

And 327,000,000 give or take a few are being denied there right to liberty and pursuit of happiness by over educated idiots that think they are way smarter than they are. They change their mind about what is best for their subjects every few days and this 2 weeks to flatten the curve is into months already and no end in site. And they only use the numbers that support their control of the sheeple and the media is 100% in bed with the tyrants. It is a sad state of affairs that our country is in!

But I do agree with part of your assessment. Value your safety and take responsibility for doing what you think is best for you! But beyond that, leave me alone and let me do the same.

This is a virus and it does not follow the governments rules and it will run it's course regardless of the decrees from the high and mighty!

Must not have lost your job, or your business? Those retirement checks still coming?

There is no reason to shut down more businesses in New Mexico. Their hospitals do not seem to be getting overrun.

Very well said.
