guys,,,,,does or did anyone here have a 2000 chevy blazer? if so....did it have a heater that blew good and warm or was it so so? I just got a blazer and noticed the heater isn't super warm.......hoping it isn't a heater core issue. the air conditioner on the other hand is fantastic!!

foxkidd - Have saw this may times working in the dealership, it is an easy fix. Take your heater hoses off at the engine NOT the firewall, you will loose a little coolant. With a garden hose, put a fireman's style sprayer into the heater outlet hose tightly where you took it off the engine, normally the bigger of the two hoses.. If another person is available press the end of the garden hose tight to the end of the heater hose and have them turn on the water, you will get sprayed. Watch the water as it comes out of the end of the inlet heater hose, you will see a dark brown color. When it runs clear, shut off the water and switch to the to the inlet hose and do the same - watch the water as it comes from the outlet hose. Switch between the two hoses a couple times, when the water runs clear from both hoses the heater core itself will be cleaned out and will have good heat. Craig
If using air pressure limit the amount of pressure you apply to the heater core to maybe 30 or so psi - too much pressure you could blow the core. No cabin filter on this vehicle.

On the passenger side fire wall undo both heater core coolant hose and blow it out with air hose or good pressure garden hose may be blocked up. If not may need replaced. I had to clear mine out 3 times in the 5 years of owning it. Been there. Done that on a bunch of cars. Common cause of problem. Flush it out good with high pressure water hose ( not power washer) Very likely the problem , The hammer is on point.
