Just a few days ago after I did a little weeding and feeding and watering. [Linked Image]
Parsnip patch, heavily manured along with all my gardens, 4' wide rows with a couple of tomatoes in the walkway between. Them parsnips are nearly 30 inches tall, and they do better like this, seeded just before snowfall and not in rows. I thin as needed. Human consumption and muskrat bait.

Looks great. I have been watering 2x a day sometimes because it has been so hot for days. Now the news is calling for thunderstorms this weekend from the storm moving up the coast

I dont know about that. I cheat, I water everyday because it's in the 80s or 90s everyday, and use an 8 yard truck load of manure every other year or so, plus fertiiser from the co-op, and the usual chemical for blight and insects if I have too.

Hey les.....do you have any idea...why my mater plant leaves are curiling up. They always get watered....and are in a raised bed,10” wide boards. We have been giving some miracle grow every 10 days or so. It been real hot and humid here for a week or10 days. Thanks Ness[Linked Image]

That's not cheating. That's working hard and smart. The soil you made looks very good. Great garden!

Not Les but to much water or not enough water both make the leaves curl .

Our yard is the size of a postage stamp, soooo, this is what we have.

There are 3 bell pepper plants and two jalapeno plants on the other side of the pole beans. Smallest garden I have ever had, but, better than nothing.

They are over fertilized, would be my guess. Miracle grow is powerful stuff. My beans looked tough shortly after they came up but look good now. They experienced a big of fertilizer burn until we had a bunch of rain.

My guess on Nessmuck’s wilting plants....too much fertilizer. I’ve seen potatoes this year that were hoed up and side dressed with too much fertilizer, leaves curled and some plants died.

Ness , I have seen them curled leaves and dont know the answer, probably what James said though, and they'll probably come out of it.

I was getting some fertilizer burn and had to water the livin' daylights out of things to save it.
