My guess is it's the heat because it doesn't appear damaged by critters or discolored. It's like a self defense act by the plant to protect itself. They should be fine and it shouldn't effect the production rate any.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Gardening is like cooking.......a man that can't do it is a poor man.
I've been seeing curled up tomatos all over Nebraska this summer.

Nessie, I would recommend some garden lime for your tomatoes. Manure is another important input. Compost works great too.

Here's an interesting observation. I'm a relative newbie to the veg garden scene and have about 40 tomato plants doing very well imo. We had very hot and humid weather the past couple weeks with no rain. I've had to water daily and in the case of potted plants twice daily at times. The tomato plants were looking excellent. This past weekend we experienced torrential rain over an extended period of time. This morning some of my plants since, especially the ones in pots look exactly as in the photos.

Just got another inch of rain here, in about 1/2 hour. Rain water is better than well water for some reason.
