I've got an order heading your way for a standard knife. That will complete my trifecta of Steinmeyer fleshers.

Please don't forget my free pelter this time. laugh

Come to the Nebraska convention and I will give you a knife on Lee's behalf.

Thanks for your order, Lug. I don't build pelters, never have! I have that overgrown marine to thank for this, and all my buds over on chat! They been carrying his water since he entered civilian life and had to go to work! grin I'll see if I got an old skinner around here I can help you out with! lol. I'm humbled by the number of folks that like my products, and I thank you all.

Charlie, thank you also. I saw on another thread where you made that announcement. Now Charlie has a collection of knives!

I know you don't build pelters, Just ribbing you Lee. John said you get them somewhere else then give them away! LOL!

I appreciate your generous offer Charlie but I'm probably not making it to Nebraska.

I'm sure I'll be very happy with Lee's standard knife if it's anywhere near the great quality of his parallel and mini parallel knives.

Eh...wot?

Lug, I know! This has been going on for a couple years now. Big John wanted a pelter and bugged me incessantly about it for over a year.. Rodney....aka Etex trapper, bought one of those white handled triangular pelters, and sent it to me. So I polished off the brand name and imprinted it with a "Lee's" on the blade, and sent it to him. We all had a good laugh, and it didn't take long for him to figure out it wasn't something I made, and so the heckling goes on. Only now, the chat crew has got a good part of the rest of T-man crew asking all the time! We have had a good time with it.....just as long as everyone knows the drill! grin

You get a free Death Ray if you order the pearl-handled castrators. You only get a free pelter with the walnut handled castrators.

Lugnut, You will be more than happy with Lee's standard knife. That is the one I have and it is so much better than the one I made myself it is embarrassing.

I got the 'sharp both sides' one and lightly rolled the edge on the convex side. You just lay the knife in the pelt and turn it loose, no pushing required. grin

I believe you Charlie. Being mostly a fox trapper I am not much of a flesher. Red fox don’t take much fleshing and I just muddle through the occasional coon and the few beaver I catch. Lee’s knives make fleshing a lot easier compared to the cheapies I was using before.

I ordered my standard knife sharp one side since I already have both his parallels and they are sharp both sides.

Ha! I grew up maybe 45 miles from Lee (south of Hiawatha) and putting up with grumpy old men like him and Chas made me the enjoyable person I am today. grin

Bahahaha! Lefty is okay, he used to live in Ks.

I got a correction for you though, the parallel knives are all sharp on one side. When building, I sharpen them to sharp, then dull the bowed in side to where I can rub my finger across it without it cutting me. It would defeat the purpose of the Parrelel knife to have both edges sharp. Don't try running your pinky across the sharp side, unless your into pain and blood!

Don't know what possessed him to get in the insurance business, but he'd make a heck of a good 'fertilizer' salesman. He sure can spread it. laugh
