Fun fact. The color of a chickens earlobe will tell you wither they will lay brown or white eggs (except in the case of the easter egger varities). A bird with a red earlobe will lay Brown eggs and a bird with a white earlobe will lay white.

We get both. Have to say the white eggs have crumblier shells. If you’re picking shell out of eggs it’s generally a white one. If the hens don't get enough calcium they will lay thin shelled eggs regardless of the color. Well aware of oyster shells and calcium and all the other stuff in the books. Decades of raising chickens tells me, colored chickens are better foragers. Around here All hens get same feed and free range all day. Yet, the white eggs are always the weakest. May be an individual trait, but it’s my observation nevertheless. Rhode Island Reds seem to be the best foragers. But my personal favorite for looks and personality is my Buff Orpingtons.

Supposedly, all bird eggs taste the same. From a Hummingbird to an Ostridge, there is no difference in flavor. I'm no eggspert and don't know if I agree but I find it interesting.

I think that's true regarding the egg whites. I think there's a difference in the yolks though. Always heard duck eggs are "richer". Not sure though, I don't eat the yolk out of any egg. So they all taste the same to me.

I guess the only way to tell would be to cook a bunch the same way and do a blind taste test.

In my opinion there is a big difference between store-bought eggs and eggs from back yard chickens. The store-bought egg yolks are thinner, paler and lacking in flavor.

I always preferred duck eggs myself. I always thought they had a better flavor and a much richer yolk.
