Grain Belt Premium in the clear bottles is better than cans. Voted best beer in Minnesota a couple years ago.

Grew up seeing it everywhere, I thought it just be good. Tried it and it's terrible. Is it brewed with wheat or something?

Has Grain Belt ever placed in a beer contest in any other state other than MN? I would guess not. I have drank Grain belt and I never though, this is great beer, even when it was hot and the beer was cold.

If one of you will send me some, I'll make an honest taste test and give you my considered opinion. Better include both bottles and cans just to be safe!

What does a case of that cost a guy? Cant be more than 15-16 bucks. Natty light is my go to recently,
and i can get 2 30 packs for under 40 bucks in PA.

Didn't know that stuff was even being made still.

Back in the days of local breweries, Grain Belt was some pretty good stuff.

I don't much care for the beer; but, I love:
  • their old brewery campus in NE MPLS, now converted to commercial businesses
  • The "bottle cap" sign in MPLS on Hennepin AV crossing the Mississippi.

Like all things in life the cheapest is always the worst quality.

I was given a can of nasty light once. I couldn't drink the stuff, So as not to offend the guy who gave it to me I waited till he was out of sight then I promptly watered the flower bed with the stuff.
Now that I think of it I should of checked the flower bed later to see if it killed the plants. It might make a good weed killer.
I have tasted roundup and it's better than nasty light.

I was working on the Umco factory addition in 1971 and Grain Belt was crappy beer then. Of course back then our favorite beer was more!
