and how much wood could those woodchucks chuck? I don't think it's been determined that a woodchuck could chuck wood. Another great idea Keith, thanks. Nice pic Sniper!

I was gonna say 40 lbs of meat from an average deer. 2lbs of meat from the average woodchuck. I'd rather butcher 1 deer than 20 Whistle pigs though. The ones worth skinning always stink. Which reminds me I stuffed 2 woodchucks in a sealed bucket with an airlock on it going on 3 years ago... Aughta be ready for coyotes right about now. That must be one small deer.

My final math, done all up in my head with my giant Yankee brain lol, is this. I figure a good average deer at 130, yielding 60lbs of meat. I figure a groundhog at 6lbs only produces 1 1/2 lbs of meat. So, 40 Ghogs would be a ballpark equivalent to a deer. Does this sound about right?

Thanks Keith. I've been eating groundhogs all my life, I don't mind the big old ones either. The way I cook them, they're all good. Good point about the pig though. I would have to make a makeshift cage of sorts to haul the pig home. Also, I do have one of Jayme's skinners that is set up for my truck hitch.
In this heat, how long would a fella have to get the meat in the fridge? You know I'm slow moving lol. in my temps of 80 to 90 degrees they are starting to get green in the belly and swell with in a hour in the bed of my truck.

To equal the same amount of meat from a average deer? Why? are you that hungry? Yes, I need meat lol!

It would be a cold day when I would be eating chucks. They're delicious Beav. Nothing but goodness, just a lot of work to get 40 in the freezer.

You all need to stop shooting those small deer.240 pounds all dressed out. Id rather eat one that dresses out at 120-150 unless 95% of it goes through the grinder first...
