Went detecting with the wife today. Found a cool cap gun with no cylinder. A rusted up hunk of grunge looking like a hand gun half. It's missing the hammer, cylinder and barrel. Tried to find the parts but ran out of time. Will try again tomorrow. Second pic is of the cap gun cleaned up. The trigger actuates now. After all these years buried in the ground all the springs sill work. The other gun part is soaking the vinegar and water mix.

Nice! I found a daisy bb gun made to look like a 1911 threw out in my frony yard years ago, always wondered the story behind it

The one you cleaned up looks like a "starter" pistol. For starting races and such. I have one I use for training dogs.

Very nice find Animals. After watching some of Jeff Dunlaps treasure hunting and a few others I am thinking of purchasing a metal detector. Can you give some brands and models that work well for the weekend treasure hunter. And what are the price ranges I'm looking at.

Made in China??? Makes me think it is not all that old but I don't know.
