adam m OP trapper A Joined: Feb 2014 Posts: 25,694 nm	What is the best thing to get rid of the dog pee smell in the carpet? I've used 3 different sprays with enzymes and a Rug Dr with the dog pee removal shampoo. This is on new carpet. I can still smell it. Not sure what happened but my dog decided to use the bathroom inside and she knows a lot better.

KYtrapper2005 trapper Joined: Oct 2019 Posts: 2,874 Kentucky	Try what you’d use to get rid of skunk smell unless your dog has problems pee won’t smell worse than skunk essence recipe below 1 pint of hydrogen peroxide 1/4 cup baking soda 1-2 tablespoons dawn dish soap Mix together and scrub what ever your cleaning Trapping is what built North America, why take that away? pro second amendment-- pro God-- pro Trump-- Pro America!

You will want to cut out and replace the stinky carpet pad too. The carpet itself should be cleanable. "The voice of reason!"

I won't RIP up carpet and re-stretch for numerous reasons I am doing a short term rental as I buy a house and because I don't have the tools to do it and don't want to mess it up. I think I got it. As I was doing other things I poured baking soda on it let it sit for half hour or so. Shampooed. Kinda gone. I landed up pouring a mixture of equal parts hot water vinegar and a tsp of baking soda and stepped in so it gets in the pad real good, let it soak for awhile. Shampooed it up. Squeezed lime juice. Let that sit as I rinsed out both containers then went back over with just hot water. I read letting baking soda absorb over night will greatly help too. I'm going to try that as well.

That is way more work than what I do. First, I keep the dog outside. Second, I enjoy a pee free smelling house. Third, NO CATS! Not inside or outside. None.
