Does the NRA need new leadership or is he doing the job he should be doing?

8 million in salaries to the top 10 positions in the NRA. I have no problem with successful CEO's earning huge salaries. Make your company $100million and earn a $10million bonus - seams reasonable. But the NRA is a non-profit and I haven't ever seen any accounting of their successes. In fact, it was the NRA that first rushed to suggest a bump stock ban. Whether or not you like bump stocks, you must agree that your gun rights organization shouldn't be trying to get anything gun related banned. A few months later they published a letter in their magazines explaining that they had to try to get bump stock banned for secret reasons that we can't know about.

I've been a member for 30+ years and was once very pro NRA. I'm only a member now to keep my NRA instructor certification. Otherwise I wouldn't join again. SAF is where my donation money goes - they have successes and they fight.

I was a member of the NRA, but got tired of always receiving letters asking me to renew my membership 3 months after I had already renewed it. Or, other letters asking me for money for certain other things.

Yes, LaPierre is at the head of a nasty internal power struggle that has not done a bit of good for the NRA over the last several years. It is past time for him to step down and stop the vindictive behavior that has caused the resignation of several high-ranking board of director members who had the NRA's best interests at heart.

Eh...wot?

It is time for him to step down or the board need to put him down. They also need to down size the number of board members way to many. JMO

Life member and Endowment designated. Wayne should have been removed or retired on his own volition a decade ago. Each and every mailing I receive from the NRA asking for continued donations I reply with this statement written on the return form "Not a penny more until Wayne and his cronies are shown the door!" Mail it back on their dime too. The upper management needs a thorough housecleaning. I still support the local Friends of NRA and their mission of raising funds and keeping it local.

I said it years ago and people through a fit and acted like I was a communist. You can figure it out at your own pace.

Easy to be certified as "non profit" if you pay the head dogs any and ALL monies to make it non profit.

Didn't renew as soon as I saw the salaries .. Took 2 years to quit getting the begging letters......

The NRA needs new leadership.

As a life member since 1985 I've seen better and it's past due.

Give him the boot.

I quit the NRA in disgust a year or so back. Now my membership money goes to GAO and SAF.

I never liked the guy. I always felt that he was just in it for the money. He always seemed fake to me.

I am a life member of the NRA.
Because of stuff like this I will not be
a life member of another organization.
Things change. I don't.

Yes, give him the boot. Of all the NRA threads i have ever seen here, this is the first i have commented on thru all the same arguments. Save the postage asking for donations and do something worthwhile with it or keep panhandling so the wig up top can get a new suit either way im out

Yeah i just about was a life member, and backed out.
Pulling a membership is a good way to let them know your not happy with what they are thinking about doing or have already done.
I do the same with my trappers association dues, don't know how many people that have told me (you know you will save money if you just do a lifetime. ) but they won't let you pull a lifetime membership.
