This dog is so lazy......he's a good dog and all, well behaved and such. But he takes absolutely no interest in animals other dogs want to chase and hunt. He just stares at rabbits and squirrels. Makes me wonder how he'll do with a coon in a trap this fall.

Maybe he would do better working cows.

Yep gotta use the right tool for the job.
I would consider a dog that didn’t attack other pets a good thing. I suspect the OP was being tongue in cheek.

I had an American Water Spaniel who was one of the nicest dogs I ever owned. She loved all people. I took Annie pheasant hunting several times with one of my other water spaniels. She had no interest in birds or any animals until we walked across a freshly mowed hay field and a mouse ran out from some hay. From that day on, every time I took her hunting, her only interest was mice.
She was the best mouser I've ever owned. laugh

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

Was out in the yard working and the dog was running around doing her thing when I heard the most god awful squeal look over at the dog and she is standing there grinning, I swear, well she shoves her head down into a mound of grass I cut and raked the day before and the same squeal sounds out, I walk over to where she’s standing tail going 50’miles per hour and move the grass aside and there is a baby rabbit no bigger then a baby’s shoe, covered it up again but had to chase the dog away several time, not interested in hurting it I think she just liked the way it squealed every time she cold nosed it

Some hunting dog she did the same thing a couple weeks ago with a baby bird

My feist has no problem chasing coons, squirrels, rabbits, cats, and the list is as long as my arm. He loves to tag along and see what we catch.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
