Being broke down, I have been doing a lot of reading and watching videos of troubled people’s story. They all seem to have the same theme.People in trouble can’t seem to escape from that. Faith is difficult for a lot of folks, especially when it doesn’t come easy and they can’t see it. So..........

What if there was an “Underground Railroad” type thing where people could “get on” and be cared for and kept on the move until they have won the battle?

Give them a ticket to Canada where they will fit in.

I guess it’d mostly be addiction. That seems to be a tuff one to separate from. Get them moving from place to place. 2 weeks max at a single place learning how to be responsible at each place. 4 stops would be 8 weeks.

But those details could be discussed among the “Railroad” community and adjust accordingly to challenges that may arise.

We have program already and people have been on them for year and will stay on them. There numbers are growing. Takers will always take but there is a point that the givers will stop giving. I will use the NRA for example. You join and shortly they will be asking for more money. This is the same with most org. Not just the NRA. JMO

Exactly and their success rate sucks because to them it’s a job. I’m confident there are people that have the resources and genuinely care about helping and impacting others lives. Should free up some tax money to waste on something else. Programs fail because they float people and never teach them to swim.

There are plenty of others with issues that could use a vacation from the things that have them shackled.

Appears to be a bad idea so we’ll continue to leave it to the government.

Thanks for humoring me though.

They float people because they need repeat customers

It's a lucrative scam

Our church has a small group called Habits, Hangups, and Addictions, which has been very successful in helping those who are trying to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Sometimes it's baby steps and they fall down a lot. Other times it's progress like two steps forward and one step back.

I'm kind of out on addiction also, too big of issue for the general population. Single parents in trouble, widows and others that want a hand up I could see. Maybe even intact families that have hit a bumpy road.

Got a call from Buckmasters today. They wanted me to renew. Told the lady I just subscribed and had received one issue. How can it be time to renew. She pitched their 5-year plan. Told her at my age, that a year at a time was more prudent.

NRA is probably worst of them all. Never enough. They probably ask their life members to reapply for another life.

I definitely hear you though. Ive oftentimes thought about trying to share what i have
and help others experience things they never would otherwise...but it hasnt come to fruition yet.
Unfortunately, trust is a very hard thing to hand out nowadays.
