If you have to use DP's find out where the coons are coming from and try and trap them as far from the candy patch as possible.
otherwise your just selling sad gas station doughnuts outside the best bakery in town.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I think you have pull triggers.

Are the coon grabbers set to push/pull? Pretty sure there was a way to set them to pull only.
The fb1 traps- Look between the trap (tube) and the plate that you press back. You will see how they have it set up to be push/pull. I have found that these traps have more travel than my others. You may have to bend the dog up a little so the trigger has enough travel to lift the dog off of the plate.
For the dukes. they are pull only. Not gonna set them off pushing on the trigger. I think there is a hole on the bottom of them that you can push a wire or small rod in. My sullivan trap tester fits in the fb2 traps.

You have to use something to get the trap to safely fire, like needle nose pliers. (Watch out for the spring!) If pliers don't work, lay the trap on the ground with the spring facing up. Stand on the stake with one foot and kick the dog off of the spring with the other. Once you have fired the trap you need to figure out why the trigger isn't moving. It might be rusty or caked with syrup. Once you free up or clean up the problem, point the trigger up and impale it with a marshmallow like the other poster have suggested.
