Chief Justice Roberts proves once again that he is no friend of the constitution. With Heller part 2 coming up I fear for what this Bushee will decide. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate...e-court-ruling-roberts-has-abandoned-hisConservative lawmakers blasted Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts after he sided with the court's liberal wing in a 5-4 decision Friday that rejected a Nevada church's request to block the state government from enforcing a cap on attendance at religious services. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) tweeted early Saturday morning that Roberts had "abandoned his oath." "What happened to that judge?" tweeted Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). "Freedom of religion is our first freedom. Yet SCOTUS has ruled that casinos can host hundreds of gamblers, while churches cannot welcome their full congregations. Justice Roberts once again got it wrong, shamefully closing church doors to their flocks," Cotton added in a statement. The decision strikes down a suit from Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley, which argued that it was being treated unfairly compared with other businesses in the state. While places of worship in Nevada have a hard 50-person limit amid the coronavirus pandemic, businesses such as casinos and restaurants can operate at half of their fire-code capacities. This discrepancy was a violation of the First Amendment, the church asserted in the suit. Defending its imposed restrictions, Nevada stated that its regulations didn't target places of worship unfairly, saying that other large gatherings - such as concerts and movie showings - were treated "the same as or worse than houses of worship." The complaint made its way to the highest court in the land after being rejected by a district court and a circuit court. Three of the conservative justices wrote dissenting opinions on the emergency order. "The Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion," Justice Samuel Alito wrote in dissent. "It says nothing about the freedom to play craps or blackjack, to feed tokens into a slot machine, or to engage in any other game of chance. But the Governor of Nevada apparently has different priorities." "That Nevada would discriminate in favor of the powerful gaming industry and its employees may not come as a surprise, but this Court's willingness to allow such discrimination is disappointing. We have a duty to defend the Constitution, and even a public health emergency does not absolve us of that responsibility," he added. This is the second time the Supreme Court has ruled against a church challenging a capacity restriction during the pandemic. In May, the court ruled 5-4 in a similar case, turning away a challenge from a California church.

Jim I'd love to see just how you justify this decision.

Maybe someone, somewhere has got the goods on him? I’m beginning to think it. With all the high tech companies in the democrat laps, they probably dug up enough dirt.

Am I the only one who refers to him as Chief Judas?
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. O Lord please don't let me be misunderstood.

Jim Numbers of us here, were not around when Ronald Reagan was transformed from a democrat and into a republican in being a conservative. Even Richard Nixon was a socialist in his policies which reflected Hubert Humphrey. Ronald Reagan made people believe in government, because he kept his word. What followed was a hijacking of Reagan doctrines by the Bush family who had no intention of continuing the Reagan economic and social policies. People learned that they would get support from the American right if they lied to them, and made excuses. We were always given excuses in we couldn't do that, because we did not have the presidency, did not have both houses, did not have a majority on the Supreme Court. The fact is people on the right have been played. The last two justices appointed are not conservatives as conservatives believe as James stated, they are the same Rockefeller Republicans who were socialists and leftists. The current court has 7 liberals and 2 conservatives. John Roberts, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh play tag team in voting liberal 5 - 4 while the others vote "right". The problem with John Roberts on Heller is, Heller confirmed the Second Amendment, and then the Robert's court refused to follow up with hearing other 2nd Amendment cases. Roberts allowed Heller to languish as lower left wing courts started nullifying it. Impeaching John Roberts is not going to change anything as there are 6 other liberals and another liberal will be appointed. The people on the right have been suckered from top to bottom and again in being played, because when Ronald Reagan told them the truth and kept his word, they believed other people would keep their word. It is a psychological imprint on the right, and the people on Tman, in all attempt to keep their word and not lie. It is something not in the heart to con anyone. Those who are in power know this, and use that to dupe those on the right. This is not to say that the leaders on the left are not as bad in duping their supporters in lying to them. Obamacare is not about helping people with healthcare, but about their interests getting control over those trillions of dollars. It is the same with all of these issues, and that includes the gun issue, in under Obama gun profits soared with foreign ownership of US brands. Now we have gun and ammo shortages again, which is still helping special interests The hedge funder who destroyed Remington serves in the current administration. This is about creating monopolies, making people insecure so they think having a gun makes them free, so they sit still as more of their rights are obliterated. There is nothing that can be done about this. It is too big, the system has been used to criminalize the people, and people need to stop being upset and causing themselves problems, as we live in a nationally organized corporate state where the government is owned, by the 1% and the government collects money to serve that corporate structure which rations us our lives. The only logical mindset is to learn how to live in this system and stop deluding ourselves into convincing us that we are not in the situation we are in. Just pay your taxes, obey the laws and go live your lives as responsibly as you can.

You don't get to impeach a judge just because you don't like his decisions. Jim
