Anyone use a golf cart for transportation or hauling things around the trails on their land? I've heard of 1 guy that does it, and he seemed to like it. Of course snow would be a problem. They are quiet, cleaner, & probably less expensive than a utv. They probably require some special tires. I don't know if people raise them or if there's a way to buy 1 with a higher ride. Some even come more like a utility cart, as one can then more easily haul stuff. Now that I have a DR mower to keep up our trails, I can see some advantages to a golf cart instead of walking long distances while carrying tools, etc...so long as a person has the right golf cart. Generally I like the excercise but there'd be times a cart would be nice.

Ours is a Club Car with knobby tires.
Does great most times as long as I remember it’s not 1 of the 4 wheelers.
Very quiet
We can sneak up on turkeys out in the field which won’t happen with gas engined 4 wheeler
Once they see us it’s game over of course.

I think Bad Boy Buggies might be what your after.

Yes still got it.
EZ GO raised 4". and agressive tires.
It sits around a lot since I got the mule.
It will do amazing things for a golf cart.
I use it for pulling the grass catcher around the yard.
The kids love driving it around.

A rich customer has one for his wife. It's how she "walks" the dog; puts it on one of those retractable leashes, plops her butt in the cart and off they go all around the property. They've had it for at least fifteen years.

Eh...wot?

Just don't get the electric ones..they are very heavy and you have to disconnect the batteries or hook em into maintenance charger as they like to go bad if you don't use it for long periods of time.

My son in law buys used carts and fixes them up and then sells them. Puts lift kits on them and usually new led lighting and paints them. On board battery chargers make the battery charging easy to maintain. 99% of the ones he sells probably will never see a golf course, I never knew what all you could do to a golf cart to customize them till he started doing this for a hobby, or the demand for them after they are done.

I think he does pretty good on them. Seems like he always has 2 or 3 that he's fixing up and he turns them over pretty quick. The last one he sold he told the guy he'd deliver it, about 25 miles away, and the windshield got broke on the trip. The guy wanted the cart so bad he said forget about it he didn't care. SIL replaced the windshield anyway, said the guy didn't buy it with a broke windshield. SIL will drive quite aways to get one to redo so I know he's doing well on them.

Since they started legalizing them for in town street use, golf carts are everywhere in towns.

Here's my 2 cents

I was a mechanic at a resort with 4 golf courses for 10 years.

Buy a gas powered EZGO
Put better tires on it.
Have someone install a Gboost tech cultch/belt kit in it - Glen has been racing for years, and when he got into golf carts he used our work carts to test on.

Had an old ezee go l got from my neighbor whose kids blew the motor on. Pulled and installed the motor out of a old scorpion snow sled my brother gave me. Made my own lift kit for it and put over sized tires on it. Thing was plum scary fast and would jerk the front tires up. Wife took one ride in it and refused to ever get in again. Sold it to a younger guy that lived down at the lake that wanted the fastest golf cart at lake of the Ozarks. Probably good move cause I'm still alive.

About 25 years ago we had a nice 3 wheeled Harley golf cart. That thing was awesome. 3 wheeled might not be ideal, but I could use that beast now. That back end was set up much different than todays golf carts...much more practical for hauling things. It seemed to have more power than todays golf carts.

How many acres do you have? Fairly level or steep terrain? I prefer the electric carts because of how quiet they are. I have one that is lifted with aggressive tires, high torque low speed motor and it is a beast. I can spray green fields, put my boat in the water, load deer on the back, etc. Most electric motors are designed to run at higher speeds and tend to overheat and shut down when used at slow speeds and heavy use...such as spraying fields. That’s why I started upgrading to the high amp controller and low speed high torque motor for my purposes. My batteries last about 5 years. You need to check the water levels monthly. If you have over 250-300 acres and steep terrain electric is probably not your best bet.

I have a 91 Club car electric. Yes you have to maintain batteries and keep it charged, but I've never had any serious issues, has a box on the back and is great for hauling things around.

130. Very diverse. Part of it is extremely hilly. Part of the property is damp. But I've been working on building some nice trails.
