Good to hear, Gary. They seem like fine young men, from what I've seen of their posts, in the past. smile

This is a place of individuals . Individuals with wisdom and opinions , sharing what they know and what they think on endless different topics . Sure , some sheep wander in once in awhile and things can get interesting but that's nothing to cry about .

You could clone yourself a few times bogmaster , then your flock won't get out of line grin

Elkaholic, I guess I see where you're coming from, in that the forum was much smaller back then. But I guess I know more people on tman then, than I do now, as far as how many I've met in real life. If you include trapping social media besides just this site, I saw a lot more honest to goodness threats back then than now. Most of what I see on here now is harmless picking, and a lot of bickering over differing views on non-trapping related issues. I get that people don't like being called names like sheep, but I guess all my years on social media just made me thick skinned. I've been called everything from a racist, to a nazi, to an imbecile and in between but I just let it roll off my back entirely UNLESS it comes from someone who I respect. Because at the end of the day why would it matter what Joe Blow from Afghanasota thinks of me when I never even met him? It just doesn't bother me.

I have noticed a little improvement in Coonmans posts....he’s coming along.

I think the thing with coonman is that most of the people who are picking on him, have tried to help him in the past. But he takes zero advice offered him, and just asks the same questions over and over again when we all know full well he's not going to listen to any of the advice given, and it gets tiresome. I think that is why people turn to picking on him. As for the spelling thing, there is spell check built right into almost every browser nowadays that underlines in red the words you misspell. Not bothering to even attempt to correct some of them is just sheer laziness.

Most of coonmans posts are pretty easy to read if you interject the word "THE" every once in a while.

But I agree with Angela, when he's been offered help with all of his problems and takes none of the advice it gets really frustrating. There are times where I wonder if it's not partly an act.

Did you pick on him ? I know I didn't .

Angela is correct in people trying to help him , especially when he asks .
Coonman is stuck in his ways though . Nothing wrong with that , just the way it is

His spelling doesn't bother me , kinda enjoy the challenge

I have learned not to post your taxidermy work of bobcats or coyotes on here unless you're looking to get your feelings hurt. Lol

Holy crap the Executioner is real ? Lol, I just thought that is what you all nicknamed a certain moderator. Never seen a post from the Executioner before but now that I think of it that's probably a good thing for me that I've never seen a post from that moderator.

I thought coonman220 was an alternate Tman account of a well known trapper/writer from Iowa.

Am i wrong?

How about just giving fellow trappers the benefit of the doubt every once in a while? And when that fails, take a few deep breaths and give yourself some time to think before responding. I've failed to heed my own advice more than I care to admit, but I've also succeeded more than I've failed and still have a long ways to go.

Like everyone else I'm a work in progress. The internet is one of those places where intentions are very hard to pick up on. If I've crossed the line with you, please let me know. I will do my best to be better next time. But please for the love of Pete, no more apology threads!

Okay, so let's all join together now and sing: "Kumbaya, my Lord. Kumbaya...." grin
