Power is out and there is a lot of firewood came out of the trees. I am using my phone for this post. Really should set up a generator to have on standby. But Ill wait a little while. Maybe they'll get it sorted out soon. If not I'll wheel out the noise maker. Its nice not to have to worry about anchor lines and the rest of the stuff. Now I don't have to get the diving gear out for the chairs that blew of the dock .... er... deck Life is so much easier on land. Take care folks.

We've gotten so much rain around here, we don't need any more for a month at least. But no storms, and that's fine with me

The generator is up and running ..... I have heard that basements on boats are not a good idea. But I only read that on the inter web somewheres so it must be true. The road is pretty washed out now and I still don't have a delivery date for my new tractor ..... aint looking good at the moment.

The power just now came back on and I could turn the generator off. Went to take stock and I have a dozen or so trees down that need taking care off. There are more down but they are not that important and I can clear that up over time. Downside is that I still don't have a delivery date on my new tractor and the track to the road got pretty torn up with that monsoon last night and moving those logs with just the four wheeler is not something I am looking forward to and I would have to cut them up so short that they would be worthless for cutting into lumper and would just be firewood with is a waste and a shame . A big oak snapped about 25 feet up and the crown is partly attached to the trunk and having up in another tree that is being pushed to a lean with the weight of it. Looks like a game of dangerous Jenga and I will leave that till I have the tractor and attach a long rope and see if I can dislodge the thing from a distance as it is right next to my track, so in that respect easy to get to but uncomfortable to drive by or walk under. Going to sharpen a couple of chains for the big saw and start making some chips. I wonder how much of my corn is going to stand back up.
Yesterday i said that this land life was easy ...... silly me smile

I know and I am not looking forward to dealing with this particular tree for sure. I'll take my time figuring this one out before I start the saw for sure. I may just set it up with a good bit of holding wood and a couple of wedges in the back cut just before the nexts storm and then sit back and wait let the weather be my helper for that one. Not sure what I am going to do with that particular tree. The others are pretty straight forward
