Here's a video of a very cool home made swivel winder that you might want to check out.

Your swivel rivets on most of them appear to be rather light. I would build them out of heavier material, heavier nail perhaps. Nothing is worse than getting to a set, and find a circle with no animal, and the end of the chain attatched to a stake. Or a pulled stake! It is better to be safe than sorry. It is good to make your own stuff, but make sure it is sufficient! To check if they are strong enough, put your foot on one end and pull as hard as you can, if they open up, they aren't strong enough.

This is mostly for muskrat and mink. They are also gonna be drowned somehow so I wouldn’t worry. Also tested my things but sticking em in a vice and I pulled HARD and they barely if it at all moved.

I understand Mason, but if you get a big coon inn one, things change in a hurry! Just don't want you to have things like I said happen, it is easy to underestimate a critters strength and will to live! Good luck to you, young man!

It’ll hold a coon and we don’t have hardly any otter around my neck of the woods, I could target them and if only be lucky to get one!

I congratulate you on having tha ambition to make your own stuff but we owe it to any animal we might catch to use adequate equipment and I wouldn't trust that for coons. Some of those nails are bet at very sharp angles on very short radius which probably weakened them substantial.

I’m not using these traps for coon. The only coon would be accidentally And i believe it can hold. How should I test and see if they could hold. Because if there is no way to know I don’t know why I wasted my time. Should I just buy stuff.
