So I got a bunch of cukes coming.....I don’t want to get into the canning end of it . Is there some simple ingredients to throw these cukes into...and then let them sit in a jar in the fridge ?? Thanks !!!!!

For some reason my cukes are setting fruit like they're in a contest, been giving bags away, and I started making pickles. couple gallons so far... just google refrigerator pickles, I made kosher dills and half sours , they are very easy to make, stay crunchy and tastes , like pickles....

So you want to make some silage? You will need to make that process as anaerobic as you can or you will not be successful and it is also important to decrease particle size and increase exterior area.

We canned about three dozen pints and six quarts the other day. We have not played much with the fridge pickles. I will look into it. Mostly I was looking to try something new and all the youtube video say the fermented ones are the best plust all the good stuff that goes with them. That will be another day, we have five heads of cabbage to do tonight.

allrecipes.com. Search for refrigerator pickles. There are a couple of recipes. We make a couple ice cream buckets full of these each year. We add a tsp each of celery seed, onion powder, couple garlic cloves and some red pepper flakes. When we need sweet pickle relish we just take some out and grind. These will keep a long time if they don’t get eaten first. Easiest way to use up cucumbers I know of.
