Has anyone had experience using the Hagz brackets? Are they effective?

They work just fine In certain situations.
But In my opinion they are a seasonal tool. What I mean by that Is they seem to work a lot better In a true spring season. In my area rats just don't seem to work that kind of a set In the fall or in open water In the winter. So It's really not the bracket It's self It's the set. And of coarse you have to use those 3/8ths fiberglass fence poles.

I haven't used any of the BG brackets so I can't comment on their use.

Do you use foothold or conibear more on the 3/8” rods?

I don't use them alot for baited platform sets. I use them alot for hut and feedbed sets where I can't get the trap to trap to set just right.

You could use them for top edge sets

I have one on each of my muskrat traps. With footholds, I mostly use them like Sniper stated. I use a lot of bottom edges with the conibears. All of them with the 3/8" rod.

Used them with great success this spring with a carrot on the bait holder. Did not get a chance to try them in the fall yet.

What do you mean you have one on each of your muskrats traps? Did you weld them to your traps?
