I need a good way or a good idea for getting rid of ground bees the yard and garden wasp and Hornet killer spray doesn't seem to be working on the ground bees

Does anybody have a home recipe?

I just go out there at night, dump a bit of gasoline in the hole and light it. You don't need a lot of gas.

I've been told the gas alone will do the trick but have never tried it, I always light it.

Eh...wot?

I've been told by several folks that laying a clear glass bowl over the hole will eventually starve them out. They will not tunnel out while they can see the sky. If you lay something not clear over the hole they will tunnel out a new entrance/exit.

I've never tried it but, if it works, it would be a good, organic way to get rid of them.

I don't want to use gasoline next to my garage foundation and that's where they are I don't want to risk letting my garage on fire

I wish I had one of these but then it would be hard to put over a hole right next to the brick foundation of the garage kind of a cool video anyway

If you can get a good shot down into the hole wait until well after dark(all should be back into hive then) and spray unshaken(it should be more liquid that way) hornet killer in entrance, cover opening. When they crowd entrance next morning trying to get out contact with spray in soil has always taken them out for me. Only once ever have I had to do it twice(latter in the summer hive can be a lot bigger(tougher to kill out).

Sevin dust down the hole would probably work too. I've killed them with it when the hive was too close to structures for gasoline.

Give it a good soaking with diluted permethrin and you should be rid of them in a day or two

There was a guy a couple years ago that experimented killing yellow jackets, he mixed fiprolin (sp) which you can get in the behind the neck flea treatment for dogs, in a can of cheap canned chicken, said yellow jackets from all over would carry it back to the nest and in 3 days not a yellow jacket to be found, it worked on whatever nests were within their foraging territory. He protected the feed site so pets , birds etc, couldn't access the bait.

You can probably google the thread.

Either gas or this! One summer I had so many hornets getting into a little hole in my foundation I could hear them in my basement and some were coming out around my breaker box in the basement. A day or two of Sevin Dust, I think on Drifter's recommendation, everything went quiet and they have not returned.

Seven dust down the hole at night will kill the whole nest in just a couple of days.

I keep a four foot piece of black one inch water line pipe. After dark I place one end over the hole and funnel a half pint of gas, or more, down right into the hole and then light it up.

Try the Fibrolin (sp). Had ground bees annually for years. Used that about 3 years ago and have not had any since.

I've used Sevin Dust on ground bees several times resulting in quick, total eradication too.
