Exterminators use a white powder you can get at a hardware store or 7 dust might be about the same thing. It comes in a squirt bottle and you just squeeze a bunch in the hole and it gets carried to the nest and kills them all. I had a guy come kill some on the second story of our lake house. He had an old brass fire extinguisher with a nozzle like an air hose would have with a trigger like you would blow parts off with. He pumped up the tank and shot a bunch in the hole and white dusted yellow jackets came flying out and after a short time, no more yellow jackets.

I'm trying the permethrin in a spray bottle tonight after dark. Because thats what I have.

No gas next to the Garage.... but I'll get some Sevin tomorrow.

Thanks!

Yeah but then you don't get to light some gas on fire.

Sevin dumped down the hole will kill them in a day. I always give a maniacal laugh and say, "Dead by dawn"

Permethrin isn’t going to get the job done unless its a very small batch. Gas at night is the way to go, just don’t light it. A good wasp type spray down the hole works too, but not as good as gasoline.

What I do is get bug bombs that you set off in your house. Take a 5 gal. bucket, set the bomb off near their hole and put the bucket over it. May need more than one bucket and bug bomb. Set these over as many holes as you can find.

Best to do it in the evening and let sit at least over night.

Wait until dark, a simple cup of gasoline dumped directly down the hole and your problem will be solved before you wake up the next day. You don't need to light it at all. I go through this every year while mowing at my cabin. The entire place is surrounded by pine trees and needles all over the ground so I wouldn't dream of lighting it. They nearly put me in the hospital 3 years ago when I ran over the mother-load. This massive hive was about the size of a beach ball under an old stump and they had 3 holes they were using to come out of the ground, one of which was about 6 feet away from the stump. Cup of gas in the holes and a big smile was all the revenge I needed.

One more vote for Sevin dust at night. Might have to do it twice. A touch safer than lightning gasoline !! smile

Lol, honestly that sounds like a recipe for disaster. Can't wait to try it.

Sevin is your friend on them applied at night. Pour a mound of it over the entrance. Most hornet spray is flammable. I sure wouldn't spray it into a running vacuum cleaner.

The wasp spray I've used in the past killed them. Those bald-faced hornets I had at my lake place sure died from hornet-wasp spray. I would think yellow jackets couldn't be any tougher than those.
