Our dog for the first 4 months of it's life was raised with cats. The dang thing thought he was a cat. You'd watch him and you'd say "Yup there's a long-eared, chocolate cat."

WE brought him into a home with no cats. Friends of ours had a Siamese cat and we went to visit them about a week after getting him. He ran right up to that cat and wanted to play. That cat started batting him about the head like Mike Tyson on a sparring partner. Dog was so stupid he found it fun and started batting the cat back. It honestly looked like 2 cats fighting.

After about 15 minutes the cat had enough and ran under the couch. The dog was in hot pursuit. All the sudden from under the couch there came a sound that sounded like a wild banshee. I reached up under there and got a hold of the dog and pulled him out. Out he came with the cat attached to his face with 4 paws and his mouth.

From that day until the day he died any time he saw a cat he'd run and hide.

Somewhere I have a photo of my old coonhound laying streatched out on the sofa with a leg thrown over the jadg terroir and the jadg has his leg over my kids cat hugging it close, I will have to dig it out

That jadg would carry that cat around for hours with the cat hanging there purring like crazy and then when he got tired he would lay on the cat so she couldn’t get away and that cat loved every minute of it

Sadly their all gone now I miss them all

I have 6 cats and the puppy. Rufus and Fin are best buddies. The sister of Rufus tolerates the dog and the others don't like him at all. He is friendly with all of them but they hiss and growl. Dixie shares the sofa with him though.
