2000 F250 v10 6.8 (gas)

Intermittent problems. 4th time in about 2 months I will be at a red light engine randomly dies and fires right back up. No codes have came up until today. I hooked my scanner shows a there is a fault code but reads n/a.

Over the last 6 months or so I got code P0720 replaced all 3 sensors (input output and abs) because I would be driving and the od light starts blinking then rough shifts, kicks the code shortly after.

Today at a light the od light started blinking then rough shift then the engine stalled while at a light. Got where I needed and the CEL was on but no code is showing. Any ideas? Ordered a bluetooth obd II scanner that GCP mentioned in another thread a while back.

No ideas what's causing a random stall?

Has the weather been really hot? And do you burn ethanol? Older vehicles have give me fits in hot weather when burning ethanol.

NVW, Fuel pump kicks on right away. When it stalls there's no shaking no nothing. Feels like I turned the ignition off. Fires up immediately like everything is fine.

Gary, Mid 90's today. I was thinking the heat was an issue because the first 2 times it happened I had the ac on max. Last time was cloudy and in the 80's. Today the ac was on low 3.

Electrical short in ignition?

No clue. I hate chasing short circuits

If you power brake it, does it stay running ?

I haven't tried that. It happens way to fast.

O'rileys scanned it, got the same as above. Not sure what is going on with the sensors and why my scanner didn't read the code

Did you change the fuel filter.

Regular scanner might not pick it up. Needs hooked to a good one while in motion so that the sensors can be monitored in use. Probably a wiring harness issue. May be stalling because of being in too high a gear or torque converter not unlocking because it does not know what speed the truck is running.

Beat me to it. If there's a CEL on or O/D light flashing, there's a code stored. You just.need a scan tool capable of reading it. Some cheapo scan tools only read "global" codes, or only codes stored in the PCM. It may be a manufacturer code, or stored in the TCM.

Concrete man, I changed that a few months back chasing a no start issue.

Why would it read the same code before but not now? The one I ordered uses an app that from my understanding I can run the scanner while driving. I get that scanner on Friday

Screw the radiator cap off, and drive a Chevy up under it. Sorry I’m no help

I had stalling issues with mine at red lights when my torque converter went bad. Sorry don't know how to diagnose property my buddy figured it out. Good luck

The mechanic was also telling a guy with a 99 v-10 to unhook the battery cables and hold them together for ? time, to reset the computer
