the girl going door to door here was revived with narcan in the local gas station parking lot about a week ago.

The data pool for 320 million is so large that they can come to very conclusive and accurate data even if a fairly high percentage want to not participate, play games or give false information. There are many ways the data collection models can be created and verified. Plus they can also learn a lot about the citizenry from those who are obstinate or do not comply. So 10 or 20 million making fun of the census and or those hired to assist with the census just add more data sets to be compiled, interpreted and used in future references.

You can google the census information for here from 2010 and it is FUBAR. Obviously they can make stuff up, but the accuracy is suspect. I worked for the Census bureau in 2000. Typical government ,FUBAR. We spent 90 percent of our time checking out collapsed or abandoned structures, even outhouses.

I put my name and date of birth... and all of that race ethnicity crap, I put NONE OF YOU BUSINESS. A business owner can't ask those questions when hiring someone... so I wont answer them either.

Just had a hassle with doctor's office about the same thing... put a big X thru section, and wrote this information is not required to diagnose my problem.

They still get all the information they need and probably want and they can use population and demographic models to get the rest and even though there were judicial decisions for limitations they can still find out the information regarding you and how that fits in with the other 325 million or so. If most large businesses know your buying patterns etc. you think the Census data collection can't figure out how this nation is moving demographically?

The census is soon due, I believe. It's fairly quick & easy to fill it out and send in. Nothing for anyone to get worked up about. Just do it and be done with it. Then the govt doesn't need to spend extra $ trying to follow up with people that didn't fill it out. I mail it in, then they don't need to come to my house or mail out 'follow up' requests. The jehovah's...now they annoy me when they knock.

For jehovah's just answer the door necked and invite them inside. The decline and don't return.

Unless of course when in conversation you're intelligence is respected. As well as your patriotism and displayed apparent common sense. Gents have one of you perused the Census Bureau website? For those of you, myself included, know that the COLA increase or decrease is tabulated via survey data. It's less this year for those of us collecting SSI. COLA is a direct result of the monthly CPI. Yea even the monthly efforts directed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics draws upon gathered data from the decennial census. Dig a little and you'll find that almost every manner of commerce generated in this country draws upon the data gathered by the Census Bureau. So lie, you'll be lying to yourself. Ignore the importance and justify the why in any way. Your children, job, local government as well as where you spend your money. Including future funds devoted to what most of us here choose as recreation, an advocation and occupation. Those of legal age and citizenry value our right to vote. Know that the info you're asked to provide toward any survey, especially the decennial, offer Joe Citizen the chance to highlight his/her individual contribution to this country. Now as it's been over two months since I last posted you boys won't hear from me again regarding the census. Granted nary a one of you has remarked or commented anything not heard before.
