I bought a fishing permit this year...…. first time since about 2008 or maybe 2010. And I cleaned up all my reels... greased and lubed them. Even put new line on most of them. I quit after about 22 poles and reels. You see ….. having fishing poles is about like owning traps. U can never have enough... even if you do there is always something better or something new U just got to have. Just have to buy it !!! smile smile smile

If and when they do open the campgrounds here, it will be by reservation only. You have to plan two weeks out, and if it's a rainy weekend oh well, you're out of your $50.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

If you are not working or working less, fishing provides a several positive things, food, relaxation, social distancing and time away from all the health and political messaging of the day.

my son has certainly been getting a lot more fishing in

no school to attend , and no work because he was working at a local supper club.

the other day he went to a Rock county park pond , he comes home he said I think everyone there had just gone to Walmart purchased a cheap pole and had no idea what they were doing.

well that is how they will learn I guess.

I can sure tell it around here. All my little “secret” spots are over run. I’ve been seeing lots of kids and piles of bikes at the bigger culverts and bridges. Wish I seen more of it. I missed the opener in MN for the bwca but soon as they opened it, I couldn’t get permits for my usually vacant long portage entrances. I had to take 5/27 as the earliest I could get where I wanted. Whole lot more mushroom hunters this year as well in WI and AL.

It'll be interesting to see if hunting will be on the rise.

Rods and lures are in short supply here. I have been fishing more often this summer. Can't go out to eat. Not getting together with friends as much. I'm getting bored.

I've had several evenings where I went to one of the spots where I rarely ever see anyone else fishing and found 5 or 6 car loads of people already there. I just drive through and find another spot.

I was told that hunting licenses sales here In WI was up about 20% over last season. And the archery shop said they couldn't keep enough X bows In stock. And had them sold before they were even ordered. I'm betting public land Is going to be a zoo this fall.

It is here. Couldn’t even get a “leftover” Fall turkey tag.

My boys have been able to fish almost every day this spring and summer...could be way worse ways for them to spend their time. They usually had a friend or two with them most trips, and even some newbies to the sport. Fun to see kids excited about fishing again.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Crappie fishing this year was ridiculous with the number of people out there. Spring turkey hunting was crazy busy. Covid has ruined my sanctuaries.
