MySide 🦝 OP trapper Joined: Apr 2020 Posts: 2,092 NB, Canada	When I level the pan on them, they won't fire because there isn't enough room. Do I have to file the dog? All for the Greater Glory of God

The hammer trapper Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 3,843 Pennsylvania	Just file it down I do it to all my Bridger #2 them traps stock have a 1/8in of pan travel way to much for my liking. Couple swipes with a good file youll be set. Just make sure to file them as straight as you can.

If a mongtgomery style (montana, wolf creek, victor) pan height is adjusted by bending the pan shank pulling up to raise or inserting a rod under the pan and pushing down. Filing is only done to adjust pan tension. If a bridger style (KO, TS-85) there is an adjustable bracket where both height and tension are set via bolt and nut.

warrior trapper Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 25,593 Georgia	My knowledge on that system is limited as I prefer the simpler nothing to go out of adjustment montgomery style. JMO but I wish all traps didn't use bolts or screws.
