If it saved my life it was worth it for me. How about you. Any chance it spared someone in your family. Such a shame that half the nation did nothing and it got worse and worse. Just how did it save your life? The entire country had to shut down. Millions had to lose their jobs or everything they worked for to save your life? You sound delusional. Then you have the gall to try and chastise others? You need to do some serious self reflection.

NY got hit early and very hard. They clamped down hard and stayed the course. NY now has the best chance of getting back to a better place faster than many places and with school as well. The rest of the nation took the quarterly report protocol and got bored too soon and yes many of those regions will have a much longer road to hoe. Also as we see the spikes breaking out in remote areas many realize there is no real control at all and choose to stay isolated and at home even when things open up. I have been reviewing Craig's list frequently for some used items I want. Right after the middle of March prices fell and the listings increased. By Memorial Day the opposite was happening. Now after August 1st the listings are going way up and prices are coming down. liquidity in the society is going away fast.
Bryce That's because Cuomo murdered all the senior citizens by placing covid patients in nursing homes. The reason NY is getting back on track fast is because it went through already and killed most of the people it could have killed. WAKE UP!

When this first hit NYC, we didn't know what to expect and didn't know what treatments would work. We now know that it isn't as bad as we initially thought but...it's still a real virus that will kill more people. But I don't think there is much we can do about that. We can all stay home and slow the spread but it's still going to spread. I am eventually going to get this and so are you. Why is it better to get it a year from now instead of now?
I don't think the initial reaction was political but politics quickly seized the opportunity to use this to damage the economy. The ongoing shutdown in many areas is economic vandalism.
Why can the cashier at Walmart and Home Depot stand within 5 feet of 2,000 people everyday but the local hardware store is too dangerous to open? A lot of things haven't made sense.
There may be localized outbreaks and it might make sense to shut down a town here and a town there for a while but a state wide or nation wide shutdown does not make sense.

They shut the country down to SLOW the spread not STOP the spread, same with bank robber mask, rubber gloves, sanitizer's, etc, etc. all the crap you have to have according to people dumber than you in order to survive this.
By 'slowing' it they can prolong it and keep it going up until the election, cause as much damage to the economy as possible cause who can run against a booming economy?
I said when they shut things down it's not going to help, you have to let a virus run it's course, can hide from it, can run from it, can't stop it, it's going to work it's way through a population, nothing you can do about it, may as well do like Sweden and let it runs its course like we do with the flu every year and move on.
Not my circus, not my clowns.

There may be localized outbreaks and it might make sense to shut down a town here and a town there for a while but a state wide or nation wide shutdown does not make sense. That's what most people don't understand. That's what drives me crazy about the entire mess. EVERYONE will either get it or be exposed and it will not affect them. Just like every virus. This mask crap and this lockdown was supposed to help with the initial outbreak that was nowhere near as bad as they said. It was supposed to give the hospitals time to gear up. Now it has turned into nothing more than a political tool used by the left to try and destroy the country and Trump. I'm sick of it and I'm really sick of the morons that buy this stupid crap. You have to be a moron not to see what is going on here.

Not sure how NY stayed the course when a huge number died. If you understand viruses then you should know NY is not safe from getting a return wave around December when many of us northerners spend more time indoors in close quarters as many southern areas are now. Most are already dead! Thanks to Cuomo. A "second wave" will not be anywhere near as bad because his ineptitude already killed most of the high risk people.

Gonna be a looooooonnnnnngggggg wait. Post election minimum. People like Cuomo would have to give up absolute power and control. I for one won't hide, but I don't have a compromised immune system either. Take care Foxpaw

I knew personally, a woman in Lancaster PA., my grandkids gramma on their mother's side, who died after two years in a nursing home. Completely unresponsive from a diabetic induced coma. She was alone and her blood sugar dropped. Unresponsive, two years. Death certificate says covid 19. Quit watching TV. Your being lied to.

It was scary at first because of the hype. Then many Americans realized it was just more media bullcrap and ignored the sensationalism and went about their daily lives as best they could.
Eh...wot?

A virus that became a political power grab. To this day in CA, you can't "legally" enter a church building to worship. In NV,or any other state, a governor can allow a casino to operate at 50% of capacity, while only allowing 10% of a church congregation to gather. The death rate of liberty from this "bug" is the true tragedy for us and future generations.
