My dog isn't a little dog, hes a pit/lab mix who is over 100 pounds. He can eat like half a turkey in one sitting and I sometimes feed him a raw egg or 2 every now and then and alot of times he has a deer bone or two for a snack when we go walking in the woods. There is a hunting club near us so deer bones are EVERYWHERE because of bad hits and predators dragging the remains around. He's such a big and power dog he has no problem eating bones and meat since its already a little in his diet. Is there any reason to not feed your dog the remains of fur bearers? I try to train him and exercise him to be large since its his breed and its just cool to have a dog like that, beside that him being so big if he had to use his muscles in defense or attack he would have alot of them to use. I feel safer in the woods with him to be honest, not that I don't feel safe its just something I took for granted now that I had the dog to be in the woods with me.

Diseases are the first thing that come to mind, that being said We had a dog thatd hunt for her food like we fed her but she preferred to hunt for rabbits and stuff.
I think deer would be fine, rabbit, squirrel but I don't know alot about it. Someone else will be able to give you a lot more information.
There are just some animals that are more disease prove that I'd be leary to feed my dog scraps from.

I wouldn’t let your dog have coon, opossum, or skunk. They would be too greasy for them and can cause bloating and REALLY bad gas. Skunks also carry rabies more then most animals. Another thing I’d worry about is worms and other parasites, So I would make sure your dog is well protected from worms and especially heart worms. some opossum meat/fat every now And then shouldn’t hurt. But I cannot stress enough about the Heart worms! Keep him on heart worm prevention because the treatment for heart worms is really hard on the dog

Boiling any wild animals before feeding to your dogs should be considered.Feeding raw ,opens up a whole can of worms.
Beaver and muskrat ,are good dog foods--you also can eat them. Coon are eaten by many people.

Boil the meat or you can also freeze it for a couple weeks to kill off most things in it. This is not a 100% tactic but either of these will help. Beaver tails dogs love my German Shepard gets parts of them during season but i always freeze for at least two weeks to help kill off anything

We love raccon here. Tried to do skunk, but dad hit the gland after skinning it. Smelled behind the shop for months.
