Losing is fine. As long as it really pisses you off and makes you try harder next time.

I ran the wire cutters cutting #11 wire for 14 spot welders for 3 winters. The pieces needed to be cut precise so the women welders had no trouble getting them in their jigs. If I were to mess up then every one lost. I got paid by the hour but the women got paid by the piece, so time was their enemy. One day the oldest lady's welder broke down, She was almost in a panic while the foreman was getting her machine going. I ignorantly but compassionately told her not to worry that she could make it up , she told me in a very stern voice,"you never make up what you lose".

After that I had an elderly preachers wife asked me to sing "Have you counted the cost"? To which I replied " I don't know it". She said "Well you need to learn it", and I did.

Have you counted the cost, if your soul should be lost
Tho' you gain the whole world for your own?
Even now it may be that the line you have crossed,
Have you counted, have you counted the cost?

The question is like asking if water is good. The right amount is good too much kills you. The answer falls within the context of the question.

Sometimes I win sometimes I don't. I don't get worked up over it or ask for a participation trophy lol. The wife and I enjoy going, some people don't, no big deal

Is it really losing if you get the same prize as the winner?

Pertaining to high school football........a fellow worker once told me "show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser." He struggled with life in general. And he was afraid of snakes. I took advantage of that.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Other than losing the fate we deserve, losing should never be ok. It's going to happen sometimes but that doesn't make it okay.

I agree some to that, but I believe as a kid these days you don't lose, and that is a problem at a young age you need to experience loss of some sort, to know how to deal with life. Because life can kick you in the back side alot. If you don't know how to deal with it and you never experienced it younger how do you deal with it when your older with no one there to pick you up, teach you, and move on with life???

Young age one of my 1st memories was the death of my grandpa.. went a couple more years later my great grandpa who I was real close with and it was hard at first but dealt with it with the right people around me. Last year in a 8 month period of time I lost an aunt,2 uncle, 2 grandma's one who was my best friend and a great uncle. Whe my closest uncle got cancer and he is fight a losing battle now.. if I didn't deal with loss at a young age or have the right people basically telling me this is life sometimes I don't know how I would have dealt with the loss of my grandma and all that happen in 8 month period of time.. I credit that to people who raised me with every aspect in life you win some you lose some. Either way life must go on.. you make a mistake you learn from it in life you don't get told it's ok, your work for life and when you do and give your all your still going to come to the losing end every now and then. You can't let that get you down. Success is what you make it in life, my success comes from my failures and losing I learn. What I'm saying it's how your raised in life, have a younger brother just graduated high school smart kid but lazy has had everything handed with a sliver spoon, I deal with life better then him because our father was 100x harder on me pushed me to do better, he is about to go to college and I see bad things happening because he has never lost in life dad and step mom made sure of that, never had to work for anything. One false move or disagreement he has out from my dad's wing he will quit come running back because he never has dealt with LIFE

sounds like we went to similar HS

our football team was just 2 losses from most consecutive lost games in a record book.

but watch out Girls softball was in running for state a few times.

not winning is ok , call it loosing call it 2nd 3rd whatever

there is a price to be paid in many things to being #1 street racing and boxing you are always defending your title

learning from loss is the most important.

learning from the experience is huge

always looking at what you did right , what you did wrong and working on how to improve

in shooting competition you may easily learn more from the competition than the trophy

lots of quite bus ride homes form HS sports , it would have probably been better to have talked it out on the way home

not necessarily competition but in things we do , events we hold it is always a ride home from the even with my wife taking notes while it is fresh in our mind what worked , what didn't , what could we do better.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I guess when life deals one a bad hand as in disabilities, one is not necessarily a loser but for sure handicapped. Still that doesn't keep one from having an advantage some times. An example would be the tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. He was hired to get rid of the rats and when the people wouldn't pay the price, he then took the children. But when the children followed the Pipers tune off to another land, those that were at a disadvantage, such as lame, deaf and blind couldn't keep up and thus were saved because of their loss. Their loss turned to a win for them. Plus they learned its best to pay ones debts.
