Anchor high up on something limber and strong. I have had them hit coyote snares with 30" rebar anchor and it didn't hold.

Details, Gary, details. Remember loop size , height, all that stuff. No pictures please. The later it is, the lower the loop. Very important.

1/8 is fine but listen to Country Gun and Greg H. We dont have good enough hardware to withstand a big boar. Because of that you need to protect it. Country Guns suggestion works great but if there is nothing suitable the physics of a shock spring because self evident.
I have a mess of the wolf Springs SC makes but you need about 3 in a row b/c of how quick and hard these things hit the end. I experimented with some undersized garage door springs with good results.

I sure wish I could tag Beaver and Mark June on this thread because they think my shock spring talk is babble and I'd rake them both over the coals even tho they are both better fur and adc trappers than and 5 leftlanes combined.

LOL Ark87. WB we love buzzards in TX cause we have the little black headed undocumented eagles and every pound of pork I leave them probably saves a baby calf's eyeballs.
I guess it goes w/o saying these old men around here are so scared of bulls they never separate them and calve all yr long.
