The military members have taken the oath to protect and defend the US Constitution, especially pertaining to the 2nd Amendment. But, will they defend the Constitution or obey orders from a Communist Govt leadership? It's going to be confusing.

There is a BIG problem with using our military against the citizens of the U.S.

Depends largely on the leadership, which has been seeded by the leftist politicians for decades.

Whatever happens, it is going to be ugly. Uglier than we have ever seen.

It really concerned me when military Generals turned against Trump recently. That just shouldn't happen. Soros get to them too?

Maybe- I have a lot of faith in our soldiers. They know right from wrong. We have a lot of them here ( some active and some veterans) that have been expressing their opinions and I have no worries which side they will stand on. They took an oath to protect us from foreign AND domestic enemies.

Largely irrelevant believe it or not. In the history of the world, it has never taken more than 3% of an armed population to change a government. That may sound like a small number but realize that would be around 10 million people. Active military is a fraction of that and some, if not most would be on the side of the constitution.

When it all goes down they will be on the side of the left.

Lower enlisted, whatever their NCOs tell them to do (some recent recruits will need to have a come to God or else meeting)

NCOs, will strictly adhere to the Constitution but will be the last to act avoiding politics. There will be some difference by MOS with the combat arms and associated MOS being the most loyal. The pogue/REMF MOS are always suspect but we've been at war long enough most of the NCO cadre have seen the elephant and are trustworthy.

Company Level Officers, whatever their NCOs tell them to do, lol. Though the WPPA ring knockers will consult their rabbi first.

Field grade will split depending whether they are a member of WPPA or not. The latter will also possibly split ROTC/OCS with all of the OCS and most of the ROTC (dependant on alma mater) siding with the Constitution.

General Officers, split. Combat commands Constitution, general staff (the senior WPPA board members) whichever party is in power.

WPPA = West Point Protective Association (replace with applicable service academy)

But I'm just an old enlisted puke, what do I know.

The democrats are clearly attempting to destabilize America. If they can destabilize America enough, I suspect there is a pretty good plan to take control of US nuclear weapons already in place by the democrats/socialists. They will likely immediately kill anyone they think won't support them. There will likely be a lot of foreign support of the democrats/socialists. Look at how Ukraine was stolen.

Hopefully the good Conservative Americans have a better plan to stop them.

The open letter to Gen. Milley in Defense One makes one wonder.

There are quite a few of us prior service and those currently in, who are members of the Oath Keepers, that will side with the people. Lots of LEO as well. Its coming so everyone better plan for it. No way out now in my opinion.

By branch I'm less sure of as I'm just an army vet and my list is for what I know.
Marines I suspect would be very similar with possibly less splitting as every Marine is an infantryman.
Air Force I haven't a clue as they don't have a clue either. Probably sit it out unless the army tells them to get off their arses and then they'll do just the opposite out of spite.
The Navy would take their boats out to sea and wait for it to blow over. Probably take their Marines with them.

The current voluntary military we have now for the last nearly 4 decades is made up of individuals that are more conservative then the average citizen is and especially within their age groupings and demographics. I would believe the military to vote more conservatively then the average US electorate. I don't know how much military service impacts minority voters, or gender etc. but it probably has impact. Also defending the constitution is not just about 2A it is about the whole Constitution and all the amendments to it. For me especially 1A, without freedom of speech democracies struggle mightilly.

The oath is to support and defend the constitution against ALL enemies foreign and DOMESTIC and also to obey the POTUS and the chain of command.

Because of the balance of powers they would also have to support Congress but at the same time obey the POTUS....

True, but the response was commanded by Dugout Douglas McArthur and most historians agree that he exceeded his orders as given by Hoover and did so with excessive vigor. However his aide-de-camp Dwight Eisenhower faithfully executed as instructed and of course one G.S. Patton reveled in the opportunity to show off his then new tactics of rapid motorized advance.

One wonders if it would be repeated today as it is generally accepted that this singular event ended Hoover's career and forever besmirched his legacy as president.
