Seen some fake meat on another thread , what is everyones opinion on such things and good or bad ?
I've never wanted to try any , they just look awful. Plus I've heard of how much these manufactured foods are created and reallly wonder if they are 'healthy' considering how much engineering and chemistry is used to produce such stuff. Real meat is natural , this stuff is definitely not. Also not a fan of TVP (textured vegetable protein) and how it is being slipped into products.

Cows have been turning vegetation into meat for centuries. I see no reason to forsake what God has provided for my sustenance.

It's probably fine...my daughter has pledged to be vegetarian, and everyone seems to pander to this nonsense! She used to be my little carnivore, but doesn't complain about what is presented to her (not by me!) So it must be good, or what we had before was REALLY bad!

Ones I've looked at in store had so much sodium and other crap in them they were not necessarily a "healthy" option, just an option. Now from time to time I will order a grilled portobello mushroom sandwich instead of a burger, but hey its a whole mushroom head not some processed pretend to be. I've had black bean burgers too. Same thing though those bean burgers tend to be very high in sodium and other garbage added they aren't necessarily a good healthy option. I've battled high cholesterol my whole adult life and am always looking for red meat alternatives. Thank you relatives for passing down high cholesterol issues to me! Fish, chicken, veggies, beans, sometimes I have to make choices over things I'd rather have over things I should have. Fake meat though is not something I reach for typically. I'm no vegetarian but I do have to be selective with meat cuts and types. I was on medication for it for a while then decided to start running and eating better and that worked for me. If I let up though oh boy do the bad numbers climb fast. I'll keep running and eating the stuff we were supposed to eat as nature intended. I am fan of imitation crab meat though, a guilty treat. Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

From the looks of it, you would find this product in the refrigerated section.
