Floor joists are in. Fastened to the posts 3/4 of an inch below the half log.

Looking great man! Thats how I built my cabin.

Nice straight logs too. I had a Heck of a time finding oak straight enough to use.

It's going to be really nice. Way nicer than mine. I have been scavenging scraps to build a storage shed for the purpose.

Keep the pictures of the progress coming and thanks for sharing I really enjoy it.

That's looking pretty good forester, but I wonder about your footing? It seems like you only have 6-4"x 6" for footing posts, they'll have quite a load on them!

What kind of tree? Are footing posts buried? Why not put insulation between logs before you roll the next log on top?

8 5×6s sitting on concrete pads. I know I probably should have put more money into the foundation but I didn't know if it was going to end up being a big bon fire or not .what u could find the posts sgould be able to support about 20000 each.
Yes they are red pine. My dad got bought out by a dot project. Had the property logged and had some 16 ft cut for the project.
I'm not full scribing so will insulate before I chink it.
