Roland deserved to win. He had marrow that he shared with his sister so did he really need to eat the stomach contents. Believe he could of lasted much longer than 100 days.

These last two seasons were the first where I was able to find some likable characters and get behind them. Well done to all.

I agree. I didn't really like Roland. He seems fake to me. He seemed like he was playing to the camera. I will say that he knew what he was doing and he deserved to win it but something about him is just off putting to me.

IMO the guy is a nut who has spent too much time alone, of his own doing, because he's an arrogant jerk no one can stand to be around. ... I could be wrong.

The outdoors skills needed are minimal.
The guts to outlast the hunger are merely an act of will. Anyone can. Few will.

What really sets them apart are camera and acting skills.

I've said since watching season 1 episode 1 that winning the audience is what wins the show.

I think It's more of a mental thing.
I was hoping Callie would have won she just seemed to have good attitude for the most part. At least she wasn't winning and crying all the time.

I do think she would have outlasted Ronald, she had a lot better attitude, but you don't just have to eat and stay warm you also must take care of your body. She got frostbite by staying cold to long and that was a mistake. No different that cutting yourself our twisting an ankle. Its all part of the challenge and Ronald did enough to win and was deserving of it.

I was hoping the frostbite wasn't going to be a factor, she is hard not to like and I was rooting for her.

Ol' Roland wasn't necessarily the most likable of the characters but he sure had the right ideas about how to go about winning it. I liked his meat crib. He was the one person out there that realized that wolverines and bears can break into just about anything and made sure they didn't get into his cache. He made very few mistakes. And he really did deserve to win.

I have to say he won me over at the end with his notion that he wasn't going spend his million on expensive cars and houses. He would just make sure it would last. Maybe take off for a year somewhere to get away from it all.

I think he is probably antisocial but he as much said so himself. I can relate.
He sure seems to know his stuff. I predicted Calli would be second. That fireplace was genius, and she was a lot tougher than she looked. I think they do tend to play to the camera now and then, but that's how you get more time on the show.

I knew Roland would win, he amazed me of what all he ate from that Muskox!
