What I average per season directly correlates to how hard I try. Last year I got 24 coyotes, a badger, a coon, and 5 skunks. The year before that, I didn’t trap. Three years ago 18 coyotes, 2 badgers, 12 muskrats, and a fox. The year before that, 15 coyotes, 5 foxes, 8 coon, 4 skunks. Lifetime? Lol I have no clue. Probably in the neighborhood of 40 skunks, 30 beavers, 80 or 90 coyotes, 30 foxes, 20 coons, 50 muskrats, ten badgers.
This year I’m going all out. My goal is to kill 100 coyotes. Anything else will be a bonus

I don't, I've never worried about numbers. Not out to impress anyone, don't have to catch hundreds of critters to be a trapper. Just out to have fun and enjoy the great outdoors. Guess if i wanted to know i could look back in records, We keep business records. So ooops i guess i do keep track, but anymore one year runs into the other. Lol
Let me sugar coat this

Does anyone have total of the last year or (this would probably be very hard) a total of your whole life. . I do. I keep trapping and hunting logs. Been doing it for fifty years. It must be genetic, my dad did it too.
Eh...wot?

Last season was my first time I traped in 15 years. I only ran around 30- 35 several snares traps on a mixed line. I started in jan and stoped in Feb. Mainly I was teaching my boys 7 and 9..
My boys learned a lot. How and where to set Land and water sets, snares, foot holds, body grips, dog proofs, drowning sets ect.. they learned a ton and loved it End of season count. 4 coyotes, 1 fox, 14 coons, 7 beaver, I Otter, several opossum.
Out of season nucence on the farm since. 1 groundhog, 5 opossum. Not big # but that's not the point. It having fun teaching the boys outdoor skills and being in the field together. They learned more about wildlife habitats than I realized. Looking forward to this season

I’m not sure about lifetime.
I don’t usually keep track from year to year. I just log where my sets are and what I catch when, where and with what. Then at the end of the season I delete the log.
I know last season I couldn’t trap much, only for our class.
I made 6 total sets ( 1 CR, 2 DP & 3 foothold) they were out 4 days.
Caught, 1 red fox, 2 raccoon & 3 possum.

Great question but don’t worry about numbers. To many variables. Work, family, acres, etc... do the best with what you have. Numbers are deceiving great and small. Good luck to you and all your adventures

I set my record for amount of beaver caught from one break last winter. 49 out of this one area. At least half off of one crossover.

I keep fairly detailed trapline records, more so I can see how spots I trap change over time as far as catch and the species I get there. I've never added it all up, might do it sometime just to see what the numbers are. I do the same though probably would not say detailed but I do make note of daily catch what bait/ lure combo ect as well as any thing that I think might have caused an increase or decrease such as adverse weather or other factors that I noticed such as a raise in water depth, lots of dead vegetation or fish or high populations or prey species such as frogs, minnows, crayfish or the lack there of I keep them for my own counsel and several time by looking back in them I have saved a season by changing what or how I was doing something to take better advantage of the current conditions

Small numbers doesn’t mean bad trapper. I remember the season I first recognized myself as a good coyote trapper. I made 7 sets on one farm, and within two weeks 6 of those sets caught a coyote. Anyone can get lucky and get one or two, but 6 out of 7 means you’re doing things right. It’s way more about consistency than numbers.

Does anyone have total of the last year or (this would probably be very hard) a total of your whole life. Personally as I started at the end of last year I only have 5 coon and 7 rats. Just curious about you all, especially what you average per season. As a kid I always enjoyed math, statistics, and numbers. I kept records every year as to what I caught that year and just continued doing it as the years passed. Without looking I can tell you what I caught my first year. I had 2 number one longsprings and we had a small feeder creek in our back yard. I caught exactly one muskrat toenail. Not the muskrat, just his toenail. I improved the 2nd year. I caught 2 muskrats !!! LOL
