Looks better than the real thing and too good to eat.
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

I use to do a bit of carving and I had a book on just carving blue gills. My attempt at carving looks nothing like flippers work.

Did you have a picture of it to go by or anything? I'd love to see it next to the model you used. I made the pattern off of a fishing guide drawing I saw. I am always on the look out for a good silhouette of fish that I could use for a pattern. I have used a photo, or traced around a dead fish or cast the fish and made a plaster or fiberglass replica to study. If I needed a study piece for a saltwater fish or a fish from a different area I have bought a reproduction from a taxidermy supply company to make a pattern off of. If all else fails I just say that the fish was sick and that is why it looks so bad. Thanks again everyone for all the nice comments!

LOL, I don't think you have to tell folks the fish was sick very often. Looks great to me.

Not Bad for an Old Guy .........hey...I’ll give you a ride in my GTO....cook yah some Maine Lobstahs...if you can carve out a land locked salmon my son caught 14 years ago....we have it mounted now...but your carving would bring it to life....It’s only 27 inches long @ 9.2 pounds...lol

Are you kidding me? What in the actual front door is that? Beautiful. You should think about doing duck decoys. Flipper that is some nice work!

Nice! If it looked any more realistic I'd be getting out the electric knife!
