Is super glue the glue for gluing bone, or is there something better?

I think I would use an epoxy vs super glue.

Where is J Park when he could actually be of use? Instead he is prolly plotting his next Canadian pizza or pastry thread, jelling his hair, or gone fishin!

Taxidermy supply companies have a 2 part white epoxy that I use on artificial skulls, it's like a putty that can be smoothed out with a finger dipped in water. But a hobby shop would also carry thin, medium and thick super glue that would work to tack or glue things in place. Not sure what kind of bone you are gluing.

I use Gorilla gel instant glue for gluing deer and bear teeth and deer nose bones on my European mounts for the last six years and so far no problems or yellowing.

For putting skulls back together and gluing in teeth, I've been using plain old Elmers school glue for more than 50 years. Works real well. A lot of my skulls end up in museums, so with Elmers white glue, they can simply soak the skulls in water and "relax" the glue to take them apart for whatever reasons. Also, Elmer's Glue diluted 50:50 with water and painted on the teeth (beaver incisors or wolf canines, etc.) with a small paint brush will seal in the moisture and will assure that the teeth don't crack and split.
On the other hand, regular epoxy seems to work well for display purposes, but be sure you get it right the first time, cause there ain't no turning back...

Gulo I may try the Elmer's. First time trying and I need room for error. How sturdy is such a skull?

Super glue gel works well for that.I have even used white Elmer's but if you plan to use a water based sealer on the skull,it will rehydrate the Elmers,Elmer's, in that case, seal first, then glue in the teeth. In your case, the superglue gel is what I would recommend..

on all my bird work ( taxidermy) I use a glue called (The last glue) its not cheap, it comes with a component similar to silica sand . I insert wire into broken bone put glue on bone joints and add the setting component..... Instant set.... Super glue with borax as a setting component also works but not as good . I can only get the Last glue off the internet . now keep in mind these joints are covered up . Regular Gel super glue will work for most applications such as putting teeth back in place.
