I was trapping nuisance beaver in Northern Wisconsin this week, I called home to check -in. My wife said " your Bobcat Tag came" My response was "No- that can't be" (just had one 2 years ago), sure enough!

I'm posting this incase your only opting for a preference point instead of a harvest tag, thinking you have to wait the normal 9 -10 years.

We don't have to apply for tags and they up the limit from
6 to 12 a couple years ago. Back in the day, 30 years or so, we was lucky to catch 3 or 4
a year. Only caught'em in a few places. After the mid 80s, when prices dropped and about everybody
quit trapping, they got to be everywhere. We got more now than ever.

last early period tag I got took 9 ....I've just been getting points the last 6

I feel the pain- I always go with the early period because we release several cats per year yote trapping.

Keets, at this point it might be better to try for a late period with your points. Tougher trapping but you could get a better cat.

I like late season partly because of the snow. My season starts 12/26.
